Hot Toys Hulkbuster Accessories Set -1/6 ACS006 - photo and video review

After 3 years Hot Toys finally released the Hulkbuster accessories set. Including the amazing Jackhammer arm that we all were looking forward for and a rather unimpressive Veronica capsule. The items are fine, but feel overpriced kind of - since in the end you just have the feeling to receive some huge chunks of plastic , even though nicely presented in the cool box. Overall kind of a mixed bag.

The main problem I had was the replacement procedure, in specific the removal of the original Hulkbuster arm - it took me over 1.5 hours inflicting also collateral damage on some parts, luckily nothing I could not fix with some glue. For some reason one of the notches that you need to lift with a special tool got totally stuck and I had to get in with a screwdriver to loosen it up and then pulling with a lot of force at the shoulder joint. Luckily the new arm can be easily setup and taken off.

Another challenge I observed with switching out the lower arm - e.g. changing from the jackhammer fist to the interlocking lower arm. Here out of the box the slot in the ratchet joint for a connecting cylinder was misaligned - you need to re-align first by rotating the ratchet with the cylinder. Find out about this my video review in detail (info: in process to render - checkout later today).

Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII 7 diecast - 1/6 MMS500 D27 - photo and video review

One of the most iconic Iron Man armors just got the "diecast treatment" by Hot Toys - the legendary Mark VII has arrived this week. It's a superior figure to the plastic version in all aspects. The suit pod mod is a cool transformation but if you want to have figure and pod displayed there is no way around buying a second mark VII. Check out the video review and lots of photos.

WooToys! Comics Legend - Stan Lee 1/6 - photo review

This week the WooToys! Comics Legend was finally released. It's a representation of Stan Lee as comic book artist and basically recreating the approach Hot Toys took on Stan some years ago. It's a well made product for a third party and non licensed figure. The accessories are well done. The paintjob is not as crisp and shart as a Hot Toys paintjob, but overall the sculpt is well done and he looks a little older than the Hot Toys Stan from Guardians 2. The green sweater is an eye catcher and I'll have the figure now presented with the Hot Toys portrait. In direct comparison he's bit on the yellowish side, but this is only obvious if you have them next to each other. Best way to acquire the Woo Toys Stan is probably eBay.

Hot Toys Iron Man War Machine Mark IV - 1/6 MMS499 D26 - photo and video review

This week the Hot Toys War Machine Mark IV diecast figure released in Hong Kong. Another extreme example of Hot Toys engineering and painting capabilities - this is a pretty amazing figure release and a must for a War Machine fan. This edition stands out with camoflage pattern, heavy weapons all over and some red accents on the chest armor. The Don Cheadle headsculpt though remains the same as before with the Mark 2 re-release and is only available with a helmet on. This is a bit of a pitty since in the movie he had the helmet off most of the time and not semi-closed. Enjoy some photos of the figure and the vid review. Please be really careful when posing the legs - the edges on the waist area are easily scratchable, see the video for all the details on this potential issue.
