Coolprops Alien 1 Big Chap 1/3 maquette - approved by H.R. Giger Museum

This is the perfect addition to the 1/1 Alien bust of Coolprops: I finally was able to acquire the Coolprops Big Chap Alien 1 maquette , 1/3 scale - fully approved by the H.R. Giger Museum. What a beautiful recreation of the museum display. Compared to current 2021 Prime 1 Big Chap the paintjob might be not as vibrant, but the sculpt, toned down paintjob and quality of the build is fully supporting the museum look.

Hot Toys Ellen Ripley - Alien 1 - MMS366 1/6 - photo and video review

Ellen Ripley by Hot Toys just got in - this was no blind buy at all and I knew what to expect. For an Alien collector this figure is a must - everyone else probably can pass this release. Unfortunately I don't like the sculpted hair and a rooted custom might be a way to get the figure more authentic. It's still possible to order her at Sideshowcollectibles.com .

• retail price about 300 USD - value today unknown (rising)
• 500 pieces in the states, 250 in Japan
• there was a painted version with a much higher limited number (5000)
• aislesniper.com and palisades toys quit business some time after releasing this piece

Neca 22" Alien review and collection update

Well guys...good and bad news. I got quite a good deal on the 22" Alien figure by Neca - read lots of good aspects in terms of movie accuracy and the sculpt. So I thought why not give it a shot. But see for yourself how this odyssey turned out for me:

So the whole joint / ankle quality problem was quite a let down, especially regarding the superb sculpt and size of the figure. Non the less a must have!

Sideshow Collectibles Alien Queen Facehugger 1/1 maquette

Something totally different - but damn worth a post: The Alien 3 Alien Queen Facehugger maquette by Sideshow collectibles. Huge, impressive, awesome, frightening and a total eye catcher in every living room.

Especially well done: the veines on the translucent parts between the facehuggers legs.

Warning: Not a girls collectible. My girlfriend hates it. :-)
